PERFORMING WELLNESS
PERFORMING WELLNESS ™ is a text based writing process for a small group of individuals with a shared illness or trauma they are ready to explore and share. The 3-4month process culminates in a public theatre performance by professional performers. Guided imagery, art and music support and facilitate the writer’s growth and play. Each individual writer finds their own form, using the group ‘games’ and exercises as tools.
• Grounded in the belief that every person is an artist and has a story to tell, and that the process of artistic discovery and expression facilitates wellness, Performing Wellness operates on the principal of artistic collaboration, rather than the therapeutic relationship.
• The Performing Wellness model is readily adapted to different groups and lengths of time (from a full 4 months to 2hour workshops) and also useful for one-one work. It is the foundation for a number of programs Kate has developed and facilitated.

TESTIMONIALS
• Kate Hawkes is an awesome facilitator. She provides a safe environment to self explore using her creativity and compassion. I was able to write about the trauma I had experienced and process it in a new way. The assignments allow for the subconscious to be expressed using metaphors. I wasn’t even aware I was writing my own story until Kate helped me look at the progression of what I had written. Thank you Kate for the tools and encouragement to continue to heal and move forward on my path. Heidi Lobstein (MSN, RN , MST survivor)
• Kate has a way of helping her participants go deep into our personal power/magic in a safe setting. I look forward to my next workshop with her!
